Hinge Boring for CabMod

Explore our standard hinge boring services for Concealed or European hinges tailored to your cabinet door needs. Our offerings encompass various standard configurations to provide flexibility and customization.

Hinge Options:

The first crucial decision in your customization journey is selecting the appropriate bore hole based on your hinge type. We present two primary options:

  • Cup Only (1P):
    • Features a 1 ⅜” hole for the cup and two small pilot holes for screws.
    • Ideal for wood doors, commonly utilized and recognized as the Cup Only hinge.
  • Cup and Dowel (3-Hole Version):
    • Includes a 1 ⅜” hole for the cup and two 5/16” holes for hinges with pre-formed dowel connections.
    • Suited for laminate or thermofoil doors, often referred to as the Cup and Dowel hinge.

Configuration Details:

Doors typically position the holes 3 ½” from the top and bottom, with a ⅛” (3mm) edge from the door's leftmost portion to the cup.
An alternative ¼” (6mm) option is available for select hinge styles, albeit less common.

Most commonly the doors are 3 ½” from the top and bottom, and ⅛”, or 3mm, the edge of the door to the left most portion of the cup. We can also ¼” (6mm) for some styles of hinge, though these are uncommon.

Boring Location Clarification:

Specify left or right side boring due to design elements like routed finger pulls.
For square panel or slab doors without routed finger pulls, rotation is possible. Confirm preferences for arched door options.

Additional Considerations:

Doors exceeding 36” in height will have three boring locations: one each 3 ½” from the top and bottom, and one at the center.
Doors under 36” in height will feature two boring locations, both 3 ½” from the top and bottom.
